Education: B.M. in Vocal Performance and a minor in Piano Performance

Baritone Isaiah Walker was introduced to music at a young age, taking piano and cello lessons at age eight. His passion for opera developed later. In college, he studied classical voice with bass-baritone, and renowned composer Damien Geter. He holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance and a minor in Piano Performance from PSU ’23. He is currently studying with W. Stephen Smith, author of The Naked Voice and professor of voice and opera at the Bienen School of Music of Northwestern University.

He’s performed in several operas, workshops, and choral concerts-The Merry Wives of Windsor, Die Zauberflöte-as the lead baritone, Papageno, Queer Opera 2023, and Carmina Burana, to name a few. He’s appeared in several masterclasses. Most notably, his masterclass with the Canadian bass-baritone Gerald Finley.

Away from the opera stage, he enjoys teaching and giving recitals. His love for teaching is fueled by a desire to learn more about others and a love for vocal pedagogy. His primary instruments are voice and piano. His true passion is lieder, which he has studied extensively.
