Education: BA from Yale, Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar from DePaul University

 

 

Sam Frampton is a multifaceted performer, session musician, and music instructor. He teaches guitar, ukulele, and electric bass.

 

Born and raised in Chicago, Sam studied jazz with local legends Willie Pickens, Michael McLaughlin, and Dr. Ron Carter. He studied classical guitar with Tom Clippert at Merit School of Music and Jeremiah Benham at Sherwood Conservatory.

 

After completing his BA at Yale University, Sam returned to Chicago to re-join the local music scene. He has performed and recorded with children’s bands, jazz masters, avant-garde improvisers, and American Idol contestants. In 2023, Sam released Comfort, an album of original compositions for solo guitar.

 

Sam is currently pursuing a master’s degree in jazz guitar performance at DePaul School of Music. Outside of music, he enjoys tennis and running.
